The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust is pleased to be able to confirm that Tornado undertook a successful test run yesterday(Monday 9th August) following remedial boiler work. This run consisted of around 80 miles from London to Hampshire and back hauling a 550 ton train at full working speeds.
After returning to her London depot the locomotive was examined and as no defects were detected Tornado can now return to charter train and heritage railway work. This will commence on Saturday 14th August with 'The Cathedrals Express' from London King's Cross to York and return for Steam Dreams.
Please see the 'Travel with Tornado' pages on www.a1steam.com for up-to-date information.
