Following recent boiler repairs at DB Meiningen, planned winter maintenance at the National Railway Museum and a period of running in at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Tornado
successfully completed a loaded main line test run between Carlisle and Crewe on Wednesday 8th June. The test run was witnessed by Lloyds Register VAB who have now certificated the locomotive for main line charter train operation for the remainder of the 2011 season.
Following her loaded test run Tornado
will be visiting Didcot Railway Centre (www.didcotrailwaycentre.org.uk
), from 9th – 17th June 2011. The only day the locomotive will be in steam and working at the centre is Saturday 11th June 2011. On all the other days the locomotive will be on static display at the centre.
