With the clutch now available, the engineering team has been able to establish how its slipping torque will be set before installation. Normally this adjustment would be carried out with the clutch in situ, but the confined space inside the ADA means the torque must be set beforehand, requiring a slightly different approach. This will be one of the next stages of the work, while the ADA itself continues to be stripped down, cleaned and inspected following its removal from the locomotive, ensuring it is ready for the new clutch to be fitted.
