Starting in Edinburgh and crossing the Forth Bridge, the train runs along the coast for much of its route making it an unrivalled way to experience Scotland. In Aberdeen there is a chance to explore this historic city, or take one of our off train excursions that include a castle or distillery visit.

Saturday 8th May - A steam adventure on the Settle & Carlisle Railway and Cumbrian Coast
POSTPONED - New date TBA Join us from: Darlington, Thirsk, York, Leeds and Skipton. A wonderful journey from the home of Tornado in Darlington crossing some of the most scenic railway in England. The train takes us across the dramatic landscape of the Settle and Carlisle Railway, before returning along the stunning Cumbrian Coast.

Saturday 15th May - Liverpool and Manchester to York
POSTPONED - New date TBA Join us from: Liverpool, Newton-le-Willows and Manchester Victoria For the first time, passengers from Liverpool are invited to step aboard and enjoy a wonderful tour with Tornado. Pausing for passengers in Manchester before crossing the beautiful Pennine landscape, the train heads to the historic city of York.

POSTPONED - New date TBA Join us from York Our evening Valentine's tour is a great way to mark the romantic occasion; sit back and watch the lights twinkle by. This will also be the first time Tornado has visited Harrogate and Knaresborough.

All of our railtours provide a nostalgic journey back in time, where passengers can enjoy the beautiful scenery as plumes of steam drift past the windows, and the locomotive’s whistle can be heard.

COVID-19 Safety Information

As railtours begin to return to the network, passenger and staff safety will be our priority and we will be working with our industry colleagues to ensure we keep pace with Government guidelines and requirements. We will implement appropriate elements of social distancing such as face coverings, reduced seating capacity, use of PPE by our staff, provision of hand sanitiser, regular cleaning and so forth in common with others in the hospitality and tourism sector. As guidance from government changes we will update our policies and procedures as necessary in close consultation with the relevant suppliers.

Please be assured that should another lockdown be implemented, your money is safe and you will be given the option of a refund or hold your tickets over to a new date.
